With the adoption of NEPA in the ‘70s, and its incorporation into ISTEA in the early ‘90s, planning has become an increasingly important component of transit infrastructure development. Interactive Elements has participated in this aspect of transit projects since 1995, when it worked on NYCT’s East River Crossing Project. We have participated in alternatives analyses, transit and intermodal operations planning, environmental reviews, and analyses of ridership projections. Planning is an important component of our ongoing work on FTA New Starts, where on some projects we are FTA Project Management Oversight Consultants, and on others we are part of the agency’s program management team.
Our staff includes two AICP-certified Planners, with additional experience in congestion mitigation, institutional transportation (hospitals and college campuses), and GIS.
